The latest of developments of the successful AutoView family, the AutoView 1000R and AutoView 2000R offer an optimal solution for local and remote administration of multiple servers, whether they are PS/2, SUN or USB based. Combining local KVM switching with remote IP-based KVM switching, these switches allows administrators access to their servers either directly in racks or from practically any location. The AVRIQ, an innovative new CAT5-cable interface, allows for easy connection of the servers in the racks, and the AVWorks softwares allows systems administrators to configure a secure system for access to the servers, while the OSCAR OSD allows users to select their servers using an intuitive point-and-click On-Screen-Display.
This line of AutoView switches combines the advantages of analogue and digital server administration, providing an efficient method for 24/7 monitoring of servers. The AutoView 1000R allows for connection of up to 16 PS/2, SUN or USB servers, and be accessed by either the local KVM port or remotely via the IP interface, while the AutoView 2000R allows two simultaneous remote users to access the unit directly as well as via the local interface.
The systems management software for the AutoView range, this client based application allows systems administrators to set-up the list of servers attached to the device as well as the users. User profiles, access permissions and passwords are all stored locally on the approriate AV1000R/AV2000R. AVWorks also provides DES, 3DES, 128bit encryption for secure authentication and data transfers via industry-standard SSL connections
This intuitive CAT5 cable interface is connected to the servers KVM ports and then to the switch via industry standard CAT5 cable, thereby minimising expenditure on cabling installation. The AVRIQ also has on-board memory and holds information that is programmed in via the AVWorks software, with regards to which server it is connected to. As long as it remains connected to that particular server, and even if the the the connections on the switch are rearranged, or a cabling system repatched, the AVWorks will always find that server thanks to its unique identity numbering system. The keep-alive function of the AVRIQ also allows reconfigurations of the AV1000R/2000R without servers having to be rebooted.
