Product Overview

Vello CX1600

Vello Systems CX Series:

Adaptive Optical Network Routing Systems

The Vello Systems CX16000 and CX4000 Adaptive Optical System offers massively scalable capacity at low cost, allowing service providers worldwide to deliver bandwidth-intensive services over simplified, easy to manage network structures. The systems are designed to efficiently expand 10G engineered fiber networks to 40G and 100G channels. In addition to delivering industry leading fiber capacity, the CX16000 and CX4000 feature a comprehensive set of service-enabling and management capabilities. The systems are based on technological innovations enhancing fiber capacity, packet aggregation and multi-level optical routing to allow service providers to efficiently and cost effectively deliver high definition video, video on demand, wireless backhaul, high speed data, business continuity and cloud computing services.

What differentiates the Vello Systems CX solutions from traditional optical DWDM systems?

The Vello Systems CX series deliver Adaptive Capacity for zero-touch expansion of existing 10G engineered optical networks to 40G and 100G wavelengths for a total fiber capacity of up to 16Tb/s. Adaptive Services allows service providers to smoothly evolve their service offerings from SONET/SDH to IP/Ethernet, broadcast video to unicast/VoD, 2G/3G wireless backhaul to 4G/LTE, and more.

The Vello Systems CX product family is based on the company's Adaptive Optical Service Routing (AOSR) technology. AOSR technology allows the CX16000 and CX4000 to increase the bandwidth capacity of today's 10G optical network infrastructure incrementally up to 16 Tb/s per fiber. AOSR's multi-carrier, low symbol rate wavelengths offer the robust optical performance, high dispersion tolerance and low cost of 10G wavelengths, but deliver the bandwidth boost of 40G and 100G channels. AOSR technology optimizes 40G and 100G wavelengths to increase the transport service capacity of new and existing 10G engineered networks without the need to re-engineer the network as demand for bandwidth grows.

In addition, Vello Systems AOSR optimizes wavelength utilization management and enables service providers to efficiently manage the services transported within the network. This is accomplished with multi-level optical routing, which combines routing of wavelengths on the fiber, routing of services on the wavelength, and routing and aggregation of IP/Ethernet packets on the service. AOSR's multi-level routing enables services to be groomed on the wavelength and fiber to efficiently reach their destination in the network.

The Vello Systems CX16000 and CX4000 are based on a low-cost, traffic agnostic fabric which ensures very low traffic latency, is inherently non-blocking, and offers very low power consumption and heat dissipation. The CX series architecture is based on large-scale Photonic Integration of traditionally-separate optical components, ensuring high density and massively scalable capacity.

The Vello Systems CX solutions are managed by the WaveMaster element management system for operating, provisioning, monitoring, and managing all aspects of service delivery.
